- Clean the outer shell with mild soap and warm water; never use petrol, solvents or abrasive compounds, which can degrade the shell material and finish.
- Wipe the visor with a soft damp cloth or mild soap solution — never dry-wipe, as doing so will scratch the lens surface.
- If the inner liner is removable, hand-wash in cool water with mild detergent and allow to air-dry completely before refitting.
- Store the helmet in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuel, oils and brake fluid, all of which can compromise structural integrity over time.
- Replace the helmet immediately after any significant impact, even if no visible damage is present — the EPS foam liner is designed for single-impact absorption and cannot be assessed by eye.
- As a general industry guideline, consider replacing the helmet every five years from the date of manufacture, as adhesives and shell materials degrade with age regardless of outward condition.
- Check the date-of-manufacture label (typically located inside the liner) to track helmet age.
- Confirm the chin strap is correctly secured using the retention system before every ride.
- Do not apply stickers with solvent-based adhesives, drill holes, or otherwise modify the helmet shell or liner, as this may compromise its protective properties.
