  • Clean the outer shell with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap; avoid petroleum-based solvents, abrasive cleaners or petrol, which can damage the matte finish and shell material.
  • If the helmet has a removable interior liner, hand-wash it in cool water with mild detergent and allow it to air-dry completely before reinserting — do not machine-wash or tumble-dry.
  • Clean any visor with warm water and a soft microfibre cloth; never wipe a dry, dusty visor as grit will scratch the surface.
  • Store the helmet in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuel fumes and solvents, all of which degrade EPS foam and shell integrity over time.
  • Do not leave the helmet hanging from a handlebar or mirror for extended periods, as this places undue stress on the chin-strap retention system.
  • Replace the helmet immediately after any significant impact — even if no visible damage is apparent, internal EPS foam is a single-use energy absorber and does not recover.
  • Inspect the chin-strap stitching and buckle function regularly; retire the helmet if either shows wear, fraying or damage.
  • As a general guideline, replace any motorcycle helmet every five years from the date of first use, or sooner if the shell, liner or retention system shows signs of deterioration.
