  • Clean the outer shell with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap; avoid solvent-based cleaners, petrol, or alcohol, which can damage the shell finish and any graphic decals.
  • Clean the visor with warm water and a soft cloth only — abrasive cloths or dry wiping will scratch the lens surface.
  • If the helmet has a removable interior liner, follow the care label on the liner; hand-wash in cool water with mild detergent and allow to air dry fully before refitting.
  • Do not use compressed air directly inside the helmet, as this can dislodge retention components or damage the EPS liner.
  • Store the helmet in a helmet bag in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours, and exhaust fumes, all of which degrade EPS and polycarbonate over time.
  • Inspect the chin strap and retention buckle before each ride; retire the helmet immediately if the strap is frayed, the buckle is damaged, or the helmet has sustained any impact — even if no visible damage is apparent.
  • A motorcycle helmet should be replaced after any significant impact, regardless of visible damage, as the EPS liner compresses permanently on impact and will not absorb energy effectively a second time.
  • Avoid resting the helmet on mirrors or other protrusions, and do not hang it by the chin strap for extended periods, as this can stress the strap anchor points.
