- Clean the outer shell with mild soap and warm water on a soft cloth; never use petroleum-based solvents, acetone or abrasive cleaners as these degrade the shell finish.
- Clean the visor by soaking it briefly in warm soapy water, then wipe gently with a clean microfibre cloth — never dry-wipe a dusty visor as grit will scratch the surface.
- Remove the inner liner and cheek pads (where applicable) and hand-wash in lukewarm water with a gentle detergent; allow all foam components to air dry completely before refitting.
- Inspect the chin strap and buckle regularly for signs of fraying, cracking or stiff operation and have the helmet assessed if any damage is found.
- Replace the helmet immediately following any significant impact, even if no visible external damage is present — EPS liner foam does not recover after compression and the helmet will not provide the same protection in a subsequent impact.
- Store in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours and chemical fumes, all of which can degrade shell materials and liner foam over time.
- Avoid hanging the helmet on a rear-view mirror or placing it on a fuel tank where spilled fuel or cleaning products can contact the shell.
- Replace a scratched or hazed visor when it noticeably impairs vision, particularly in low-light or oncoming-headlight conditions.
