- Clean the outer shell with a soft cloth and mild soap and warm water; avoid petroleum-based solvents, abrasive cleaners, or spray polishes that can damage the shell finish and graphic decals.
- Clean the visor with a damp microfibre cloth only; never wipe a dry visor, as fine dust particles will scratch the lens surface.
- If the interior liner and cheek pads are removable, hand-wash them in cool water with mild detergent and allow to air-dry completely before reinserting — do not machine-wash or tumble-dry.
- Store the helmet in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours, and chemical fumes, all of which degrade the EPS foam liner and shell over time.
- Do not hang the helmet from the handlebars by its chin strap, as sustained load on the strap and buckle can weaken the retention system.
- Replace the helmet after any significant impact, even when no external damage is visible — EPS foam compresses on impact and does not recover, reducing protection in subsequent crashes.
- Follow manufacturer guidance on helmet lifespan (typically five years from first use or seven years from manufacture date) and replace accordingly, as shell and foam materials deteriorate with age and UV exposure.
- Check that the chin strap fastens securely and sits snugly under the chin before every ride.
