Clean the outer shell with a mild soap solution and a soft, damp cloth; avoid petroleum-based solvents, harsh detergents or abrasive pads that can damage the shell finish or graphic.
Clean the visor with warm water and a clean microfibre cloth; avoid dry paper towel or rough materials that may scratch the lens surface.
If the interior liner is removable, hand-wash it in cool water with mild soap and allow it to air-dry fully before refitting — never use a tumble dryer.
Do not store the helmet in direct sunlight, near heat sources, or in a vehicle boot where temperatures can peak; prolonged heat and UV exposure degrade the EPS foam liner and shell.
Store the helmet in a ventilated helmet bag or on a padded stand to prevent contact scratches on the shell and visor.
Replace the helmet immediately after any significant impact, regardless of visible damage — EPS foam liner does not recover after a crush event and protection is permanently compromised.
As a general precaution, retire the helmet after five years of regular use; foam and retention materials age and lose protective qualities over time even without impact.
Do not apply adhesive stickers, paint or chemical treatments to the shell without confirming compatibility with M2R, as solvents in adhesives can weaken the shell material.
