  • Clean the outer shell with a mild soap solution and a soft, damp cloth; avoid petroleum-based cleaners, solvents or abrasive pads that can damage the shell finish and graphic.
  • Remove the inner liner and cheek pads before washing; hand-wash in cool water with mild detergent, rinse thoroughly and allow to air-dry completely before refitting — never use a tumble dryer.
  • Clean the visor with a dedicated helmet-visor cleaner or warm soapy water and a clean microfibre cloth; never wipe a dry visor, as this causes fine scratches that impair vision.
  • Lubricate the visor pivot mechanism occasionally with a small amount of silicone-based lubricant if it becomes stiff; avoid petroleum-based oils.
  • Store the helmet in a helmet bag or on a flat surface, away from direct sunlight, fuel, oils and chemicals — these degrade both the EPS liner and shell materials over time.
  • Do not hang the helmet by its chin strap for extended periods, as sustained tension can fatigue the strap webbing.
  • Inspect the retention system (buckle and strap) for fraying, cracking or damage before every ride.
  • Retire and replace the helmet immediately following any significant impact — EPS liner damage is invisible to the naked eye but compromises protection.
  • As a general guideline, replace the helmet every five years from the date of manufacture regardless of apparent condition, or sooner if the liner, shell or retention system shows visible deterioration.
