The M2R Fugitive in Forged Carbon is a full-face road helmet built around a forged carbon shell — a construction method that uses short-strand carbon fibre compacted under high pressure to produce a lightweight, rigid structure with a distinctive marbled surface finish.

- Clean the outer shell with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap; avoid petroleum-based solvents, abrasive cleaners, or harsh chemicals that can degrade the carbon resin finish.
- Remove the interior liner and cheek pads before washing; hand-wash in lukewarm water with mild detergent, rinse thoroughly, and allow to air-dry away from direct heat or sunlight.
- Do not use compressed air, high-pressure hoses, or abrasive pads on the forged carbon surface.
- Store the helmet in its bag or box in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours, and extreme temperatures, which can degrade both the shell resin and comfort liner over time.
- Replace the helmet immediately after any impact, even if no visible damage is present — forged carbon composite can absorb crash energy internally without obvious external cracking.
- Inspect the visor and visor mechanism regularly for cracks, scratches, and secure fitment; replace a scratched visor promptly as it impairs visibility.
- Check that the retention system (chin strap and buckle) moves freely and fastens securely before every ride.
- As a general industry guideline, retire the helmet after five years from the date of first use regardless of apparent condition, or earlier if the shell, liner, or straps show wear, deformation, or damage.
