- Clean the outer shell with a soft damp cloth and a mild, pH-neutral soap solution; rinse thoroughly and allow to air-dry completely before storing or riding.
- Never use petroleum-based products, solvents, or abrasive cleaners on any part of the helmet — these can degrade the shell, visor coatings, and interior materials.
- Remove cheek pads and the crown liner before washing them; hand-wash in lukewarm water with mild detergent, rinse well, and allow to dry fully before reinserting.
- Clean the visor with a damp microfibre cloth — avoid dry-wiping, which can introduce fine scratches that reduce optical clarity over time.
- If a Pinlock insert is fitted, clean it separately with a soft damp cloth only; do not use glass cleaners or abrasive materials on the insert.
- Store the helmet in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours, and chemical fumes; the original box or a dedicated helmet bag is ideal.
- Replace the helmet after any significant impact, even when no visible damage is present — the EPS liner deforms internally on impact and cannot provide the same protection a second time.
- Inspect the visor mechanism, liner condition, and chin-strap retention system regularly for signs of wear; replace worn components through an authorised HJC dealer.
- Do not rest the helmet on the fuel tank or place it near exhaust components — heat and petrol residue can compromise the shell and liner integrity.
