- Clean the outer shell with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap; rinse with clean water and allow to air dry completely before storage.
- Clean the visor with lukewarm water and a soft lint-free cloth; never use abrasive pads, petrol-based products, or solvent sprays as these will damage the optical coating.
- Remove the interior liner and cheek pads and hand-wash them with mild detergent in cool water; allow them to dry fully in a well-ventilated area before reinserting — do not tumble dry.
- Do not apply wax, polish, or spray lubricants to the shell or visor mechanism without confirming compatibility with the manufacturer.
- Store the helmet in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, UV exposure, and heat sources such as car dashboards, which degrade polycarbonate and composite materials over time.
- Inspect the chin strap, buckle, and retention system before each ride for signs of fraying, cracking, or wear.
- Replace the helmet immediately after any significant impact, even if no external damage is visible — EPS liner deformation is internal and cannot be assessed by eye.
- Check the visor mechanism and seal periodically; replace the visor if it develops deep scratches that impair visibility, particularly at night or in low-angle sun.
- Refer to HJC's published guidelines for service life; as a general principle, helmets should be reviewed for replacement after sustained regular use.
