Clean the outer shell using a mild soap solution and a soft, damp cloth; never use petroleum-based solvents, abrasive cleaners or compressed air, as these can damage the shell and graphic finish.
Clean the visor with warm water and a soft microfibre cloth only; dry cloths and paper towels can permanently scratch the anti-scratch lens coating.
Remove the interior liner and cheek pads and hand-wash in warm water with a mild detergent; allow all components to air dry completely before refitting — do not tumble dry or use a hair dryer.
Never apply paint, adhesive stickers, fuel or chemical sprays to the helmet shell or visor, as these can degrade structural materials and void any warranty.
Install the Pinlock EVO lens insert onto the visor pins for anti-fog performance in cold or wet conditions; refer to the Pinlock insert instructions for correct fitment.
Store the helmet in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, petrochemicals and heat sources, which can accelerate liner and EPS degradation.
After any significant impact — even with no visible external damage — retire the helmet immediately; internal EPS damage is not visible but compromises protection.
Inspect the chin strap buckle, visor pivot screws and ventilation slides periodically for wear, and contact HJC or an authorised service centre if any component is damaged or seized.
As a general industry guideline, helmets should be replaced every five years from the date of manufacture regardless of apparent condition, or sooner if the liner, shell or retention system shows signs of deterioration.
