- Clean the outer shell with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap; avoid petroleum-based solvents or abrasive cleaners that can degrade the shell finish.
- Remove the interior liner and cheek pads for washing — follow the care label instructions on the liner itself (typically hand-wash in cold water, air dry only).
- Clean the face shield with a damp cloth or dedicated visor cleaner; never wipe a dry visor as dust particles can scratch the surface.
- Inspect the retention system (chin strap buckle and webbing) periodically for wear, fraying or loss of function, and replace if compromised.
- Store the helmet in its bag or on a stable surface away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours, and extreme heat, all of which can degrade foam liners and shell integrity over time.
- Do not paint, apply stickers or use chemical adhesives on the shell, as these can weaken the structure.
- Replace the helmet after any significant impact — internal EPS foam damage is not visible to the naked eye.
