The Zodiac Chrome Kickstand is a replacement side stand for Harley-Davidson Sportster (XL) models from 1990 to 2003, finished in chrome.
It suits riders replacing a stand that has been bent, damaged or has lost its finish to corrosion, as well as anyone tidying up the left side of the bike during a rebuild or custom build.

- Confirm the application against your model, year and VIN before fitting; XL fitment codes overlap across variants.
- Fit using the correct mounting hardware, spring and pivot bolt, and torque to the figures in the workshop manual for your model.
- Apply a light smear of grease to the pivot on assembly so the stand swings freely and retracts fully.
- After fitting, check that the stand springs up and stays retracted, and that the bike sits stably with the stand deployed.
- Clean the chrome with mild soapy water and a soft cloth; avoid abrasive pads, scouring powders and strong solvents.
- Dry the stand after riding in rain and follow with a chrome polish or protective wax, particularly in coastal or salted-road conditions.
- Attend to any chips or surface rust promptly, as bare spots under chrome will spread.
- Park on firm, level ground and use a support pad on soft, loose or hot surfaces so the stand does not sink or slip.
- Do not sit on or heavily load the motorcycle while it is resting on the side stand.
- Inspect the spring and pivot periodically for wear, play or fatigue and replace if the stand becomes loose or slow to retract.
