- Clean chrome surfaces with a soft, damp cloth; avoid abrasive pads or harsh chemical cleaners that can strip the chrome plating.
- Apply a dedicated chrome polish periodically to maintain shine and protect against oxidation and surface rust.
- Before fitting, confirm the riser's internal diameter matches your handlebar diameter (1"/25.4 mm) and that your mounting hardware aligns with your top clamp or triple tree.
- Torque all mounting bolts to your motorcycle manufacturer's specified value; do not over-tighten, as this can crack the chrome or distort the riser.
- After initial installation, re-check all fastener torque after the first ride and again after approximately 500 km.
- Inspect risers periodically for hairline cracks, pitting, or looseness, particularly if the motorcycle is used on rough roads.
- Store or garage the motorcycle under cover where possible to reduce moisture exposure and slow chrome deterioration.
- If surface rust spots appear, treat early with a chrome rust remover formulated for plated parts before corrosion penetrates to the base metal.
