- Clean chrome surfaces regularly with a soft, lint-free cloth and a dedicated chrome polish to prevent tarnishing and surface oxidation.
- Avoid abrasive cleaners, steel wool or harsh solvents that can scratch or strip the chrome finish.
- After riding in wet or salty conditions, wipe the bar dry promptly to prevent corrosion developing under the chrome plating.
- When fitting, ensure all cables, throttle and brake lines are correctly routed and have adequate slack before final tightening — check that full lock-to-lock steering is unobstructed.
- Torque all riser clamp bolts to the specification listed in your motorcycle's service manual; do not over-tighten, as this can distort the bar.
- Inspect mounting hardware and clamp torque periodically as part of routine pre-ride checks.
- Store in a dry environment; if storing long-term, apply a light coat of chrome protectant wax to guard against humidity.
- If surface rust spots appear in the chrome, address them early with a fine chrome rust remover before pitting can develop.
