The Yoshimura INS-32-K is a replacement low-volume sound insert kit for RS-12 mufflers, using a 1.375" insert. It fits into the muffler outlet to bring the exhaust note down when you need to meet a stricter noise limit.
It suits riders whose club, track or practice venue enforces a sound cap, and anyone who wants a quieter option they can fit or remove between rides. The amount of decibel reduction varies with the machine and application, so check your result against the limit that applies to you.
Note: this insert is not spark arrested, and Yoshimura designed and tested it around a factory-standard motorcycle for the U.S. market — fitment and performance may differ on bikes with other aftermarket or OE accessories fitted.

- Only fit or remove the insert when the exhaust is completely cool — hot components will burn you and can damage the muffler packing.
- Check the retaining hardware is properly tightened before each ride; vibration can work an insert loose and it may be ejected on track.
- Inspect the insert periodically and clear carbon build-up with a soft brush; avoid harsh solvents on the muffler's outer sleeve.
- Sound-test the bike against your club, track or event decibel limit after fitting, as the actual reduction varies with model, muffler condition and testing method.
- This insert is not spark arrested — do not use it where a forestry-approved spark arrestor is required.
- Restore the standard outlet arrangement when the low-volume insert is removed, and keep the unused parts in a dry place to prevent corrosion.
- Re-check fitment if the exhaust, endcap or other intake and exhaust components have been changed from factory specification.
