- Ensure the wheel rim valve hole is clean and free of burrs before fitting.
- Insert the valve stem through the rim hole and tighten the retaining nut firmly by hand, then snug with a valve tool — do not overtighten, as this can distort the sealing washer.
- Fit a valve cap at all times when not inflating to keep dirt and moisture out of the valve core.
- Inspect the valve core for leaks after fitting by applying a small amount of soapy water and checking for bubbles.
- Replace the valve core if a slow leak is detected at the valve rather than the tyre bead — standard Schrader cores are compatible.
- Do not use the 90-degree valve stem as a leverage point; always support the inflator head squarely to avoid bending the stem.
