  • Have the tyre fitted and balanced by a qualified motorcycle tyre technician using correct bead lubricant and rim protection.
  • Use the tube size and type specified for a 4.60-17 fitment, and fit a fresh tube and rim tape rather than reusing damaged ones.
  • Set and check cold inflation pressures to the motorcycle manufacturer's recommendation for the intended surface and load; check before every ride.
  • Ride moderately for the first heat cycles to allow the release agent to wear off the tread and the carcass to settle.
  • Check rim lock and valve stem alignment regularly — a leaning valve stem indicates the tyre has slipped on the rim and needs re-seating.
  • Inspect knobs, sidewalls and bead area for cuts, torn or missing blocks, embedded debris and cracking; replace the tyre if the carcass or bead is damaged.
  • Clean with mild soapy water and a soft brush; avoid solvents, petrol and tyre dressings, which can degrade the rubber and reduce grip.
  • Store away from direct sunlight, ozone sources such as electric motors, and extremes of heat, standing upright or laid flat rather than hanging under load.
  • Replace once the knobs are worn down, rounded or torn, and observe the tyre's directional and fitment markings on the sidewall when mounting.
