- Confirm part number RS634AK matches your existing Vortex rearset kit before fitting — rearset components are model and kit specific.
- Fitting is best carried out by a competent mechanic; transfer any bearings, spacers, collars and fasteners from the old bracket only if they are in good condition.
- Torque all fasteners to the specifications in your Vortex rearset instructions and use thread-locking compound where the instructions call for it.
- Before riding, check that the gear lever selects every gear cleanly, returns to centre freely, and has no binding through the full range of movement.
- Check clearance between the bracket, linkage, exhaust, fairing and your boot at full lock and full suspension travel.
- Re-check all fasteners for tightness after the first ride and periodically thereafter, particularly after track sessions.
- Inspect the bracket and linkage after any crash or drop and replace the bracket if it is bent, cracked or has elongated mounting holes — do not attempt to straighten it.
- Clean with mild soap and water and a soft cloth; avoid harsh solvents, degreasers and abrasive pads that can damage the black finish.
- Keep pivot points clean and lightly lubricated so shifting stays precise, and wipe away chain lube overspray and road grime after wet rides.
