- Measure the cylinder bore with a bore gauge before ordering to confirm 46.47mm is the correct oversize for your specific bore condition.
- Deglaze or re-bore the cylinder as required before fitting new rings; a mirror finish will prevent rings from seating correctly.
- Clean all mating surfaces — cylinder base, head, and cases — thoroughly before assembly to remove old gasket material and debris.
- Lubricate the piston, rings, wrist pin, and small-end bearing generously with fresh two-stroke oil immediately before installation.
- Confirm circlips are fully and correctly seated in their grooves before fitting the piston into the bore; a dislodged circlip will cause immediate engine failure.
- Install new gaskets at both the cylinder base and head when performing the rebuild — reusing compressed gaskets risks compression loss and coolant or air leaks.
- After first start-up following a rebuild, run a short, varied-throttle break-in procedure (typically several gentle heat cycles) before returning to full-load operation; follow the engine manufacturer's recommended break-in protocol.
- Monitor the exhaust note and throttle response carefully during the first few hours of post-rebuild operation; unusual sounds or smoke may indicate a seating or clearance issue.
- Check and re-torque the cylinder head bolts to the Suzuki factory specification after the first heat cycle once the engine has fully cooled.
