The Vance & Hines High Output Grenades are a 2-into-2 slip-on muffler set made for the Indian Scout, 2015 to 2023. They replace the standard mufflers with a three-step body and tapered, CNC-machined billet end caps, finished in black throughout for a darker look against the bike's stock hardware.

They suit Scout riders who find the original exhaust too subdued and want a deeper, more assertive note along with a change in exhaust flow. A discreet crossover is built into the system, and optional quiet baffles are available separately if you'd prefer to bring the volume back down.

Sound levels from aftermarket exhausts vary. Check your state's noise and ADR requirements before riding on public roads.

Fit only to a completely cold motorcycle — exhaust components retain heat long after the engine is switched off.
Handle the mufflers with clean gloves during fitting and wipe off any fingerprints or oils with a degreaser before the first start, as residue can bake permanently into the black finish.
Torque the clamps and mounting hardware evenly, then re-check them after the first heat cycle and periodically thereafter, as fasteners can settle once the system has been up to temperature.
After fitting, run the engine briefly and check for exhaust leaks, rattles or contact with the frame, swingarm, luggage or rider's leg before riding.
Clean only when fully cool, using mild soapy water and a soft cloth. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
Avoid abrasive pads, metal polishes, solvents, degreasers and acidic wheel cleaners on the black finish and end caps — these will dull or strip it.
If you fit the optional quiet baffles, check their retaining hardware is secure and re-check it periodically.
Changing the mufflers alters exhaust flow, so have fuelling assessed by a qualified technician if the bike runs poorly or the tune is marginal.
Remove road salt, mud and chain lube overspray promptly, and wash the mufflers after riding in wet or coastal conditions to limit corrosion.
Check noise limits and ADR requirements in your state before road use, particularly if riding without the quiet baffles.
