The SW-Motech Upper Crash Bar (SBL.07.975.10400) provides additional upper-body protection for the BMW R 1300 GS (2023 onwards). It is designed to work in conjunction with the original BMW crash bar, extending the protective coverage of the motorcycle's front end.
Important: This upper crash bar is only compatible when the original BMW crash bar is already fitted. It is not a standalone replacement for the factory crash bar.

- Confirm the original BMW crash bar is correctly fitted before installing this upper crash bar — it is a prerequisite, not optional.
- Follow the SW-Motech installation instructions supplied with the product for correct torque settings and mounting sequence.
- After the first ride, re-check all mounting bolts and re-torque to specification as hardware can seat and settle.
- Inspect mounting points, welds and hardware for cracks or loosening at each service interval or after any impact.
- Clean with mild soap and water using a soft cloth; avoid high-pressure water jets directed at mounting hardware or joints.
- Dry thoroughly after washing or riding in wet conditions to prevent corrosion at contact points.
- If the bar sustains a significant impact, inspect for deformation or cracking before continuing to ride — a compromised bar should be replaced.
