The UFO Skid Plate in silver is a model-specific underbody guard for KTM SX and EXC dirt bikes built between 1998 and 2003. It sits beneath the engine and lower frame to take the hits that rocks, ruts and log crossings would otherwise deliver to your cases and frame rails.
It suits trail, enduro and motocross riders on the listed 1998-2003 KTM two-stroke and four-stroke models who want replacement or first-time protection for an older bike. Check your model and year against the fitment list in the Specifications tab before ordering.

- Confirm your bike's exact model and year against the fitment list before fitting; this is a model-specific guard, not a universal plate.
- Fit using the bike's existing skid plate mounting points and secure all fasteners evenly so the plate sits flat without being pulled into tension.
- Re-check the mounting fasteners after the first ride, then at each regular service or before long rides.
- Remove the plate periodically to clear packed mud, sand and grass from between the plate and the frame, as trapped debris holds moisture and can abrade paint and cases.
- Wash with warm water and mild soap, then dry before refitting; avoid harsh solvents, petrol and brake cleaner.
- Keep pressure washers off the mounting points and hardware to prevent forcing water and grit into the mounts.
- Inspect for cracks, deep gouges or elongated mounting holes after heavy impacts, and replace the plate if it is split or no longer clamps securely.
- Do not ride with loose, missing or mismatched fasteners; a partly attached plate can catch on obstacles and damage the frame or cases.
- Store off the bike in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight if it is not in use.
