- Inspect the tube for damage, kinks or contamination before fitting.
- Dust the inside of the tyre and the tube lightly with talcum powder before installation to prevent the tube sticking to the tyre casing.
- Ensure the tyre is fully deflated before removing or installing the tube to avoid damaging the valve stem.
- Avoid using sharp tyre levers directly against the tube during fitting; use plastic levers where possible.
- Inflate gradually and check that the tube is not pinched between the tyre bead and rim before reaching final pressure.
- Check tyre pressure before each ride; running under-inflated increases pinch-flat risk even with a heavy duty tube.
- After fitting, briefly deflate, re-seat the tyre by hand around the full circumference, then re-inflate to confirm even seating.
- Store unused tubes in a cool, dark location away from UV, ozone sources and fuels, which degrade rubber over time.
- Choosing a selection results in a full page refresh.
