The SHAD Top Master is the mounting hardware that turns the rear of your BMW F900GS into a top case platform. Rather than a universal rack, it is drawn up around this specific model, so the frame follows the bike's own mounting points and lines up with the tail without improvisation.
It suits F900GS riders adding luggage for commuting, touring or adventure travel, and works with any SHAD or SHAD TERRA top case once the case's mounting plate is fitted. The fitting itself is designed to go on and come off without drama, so you can strip the bike back for weekend riding and rebuild it for the next trip.
Note: the top case and its mounting plate are not part of this kit. SHAD top cases supply the plate, with TERRA cases the exception — check you have the matching plate before you order.

- Fit using the instructions and hardware supplied with the kit, and follow the steps in the order given for your F900GS.
- Leave all fasteners finger-tight until the frame is sitting square on the bike, then tighten them in sequence.
- This fitting carries a top case only in combination with a SHAD mounting plate — SHAD top cases include the plate, with TERRA cases the exception, so confirm you have the correct plate before assembly.
- Re-check every fastener after the first loaded ride, then at regular service intervals; vibration and touring loads can work bolts loose over time.
- Before each ride, slide the case fully onto the plate and confirm the latch has locked before setting off.
- Stay within the load limit SHAD specifies for your top case, and pack heavier items low and towards the front of the case to keep the bike settled.
- Clean with warm soapy water and a soft cloth; avoid solvents, abrasive pads and pressure washers aimed straight at the mounting points.
- After wet, salty or gravel riding, rinse the frame and dry it off, then check for corrosion around the fasteners.
- Inspect periodically for cracks, bent tubing or elongated bolt holes — replace damaged parts rather than attempting a repair.
- The fitting can stay on the bike with the case removed if you prefer a stripped-back look between trips; store any removed plate and hardware together so nothing goes missing.
