- Wipe the shell with a soft damp cloth and a mild soap solution; avoid abrasive cleaners or solvent-based products that may damage the finish or lid seal.
- Dry the interior and exterior thoroughly after riding in rain before closing and storing the case to prevent moisture build-up.
- Lubricate the lock cylinder occasionally with a light, purpose-made lock lubricant to maintain smooth key operation.
- Inspect the lid seal regularly for signs of cracking or compression set; if it no longer seats evenly, have it replaced before the next wet-weather ride.
- Verify that all mounting base hardware is correctly tightened before long rides or when carrying heavier loads.
- Distribute weight evenly inside the case to reduce stress on the hinge, latch and mounting system.
- Avoid leaving the case in prolonged direct sunlight or extreme heat when not in use, as sustained UV and temperature exposure can fade the finish over time.
