- Clean the exterior with a soft damp cloth and mild soap; avoid solvents, petrol or abrasive cleaners that can damage the ABS surface and carbon look finish.
- Do not exceed the recommended load capacity; overloading stresses the mounting hardware and lid hinges.
- Before every ride, check that the base plate bolts and locking lever are secure; re-torque after rough road use or if vibration is noticed.
- Lubricate the lock cylinder periodically with a dry graphite-based lubricant; avoid oil-based lubricants that attract grit and cause the mechanism to seize.
- Store spare keys separately from the motorcycle in a secure location.
- Avoid directing high-pressure water jets at the lock cylinder, hinges or lid seal when washing the bike.
- Inspect the lid seal regularly; if it appears cracked or compressed flat, replace it to maintain weather resistance and prevent water ingress.
- When storing the case off the bike for extended periods, keep it in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight to prevent UV fading of the finish.
