The Alpinestars Tech 7 is a full off-road competition boot built for motocross, enduro and trail riding. A ground-up redesign of a long-running favourite, it pairs a suede leather and microfibre upper with extensive TPU armour to deliver a boot that is lighter, more anatomically shaped and more protective than the version it replaces.
The chassis is engineered around a medial and lateral double pivot system, so the boot supports the ankle without fighting the natural flex of the rider's leg. A TPU lower shell with a dedicated left and right shifter design, a metal shank and a dual-compound vulcanised rubber sole give clear feel through the pegs and precise control of the shift lever and rear brake.
Presented in the black / fluo red colourway and CE certified to EN 13634:2017, the Tech 7 suits riders who want serious protection and long-term serviceability — the sole, footpeg insert and buckles are all replaceable.

- Allow a short break-in period — ride or walk in the boots for a few sessions so the bellows, pivots and gaiter soften and mould to your leg.
- Set the aluminium buckle memory settings once so each strap returns to the same tension, then use the quick-release action for day-to-day entry and exit; check strap engagement before every ride.
- With the wide entry aperture, open the shin plate and upper buckles fully before pulling the boot on to avoid stressing the closures and pull flap.
- Knock off loose mud after each ride, then wash with lukewarm water, a soft brush and mild soap. Avoid solvents, petrol, brake cleaner and harsh detergents, which damage suede, microfibre and TPU.
- Do not pressure-wash directly into the gaiter, bellows or pivot hardware; high-pressure water forces grit into the flex system.
- Remove the footbed after wet or hot rides and dry both the footbed and the boot at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, heaters and exhausts — forced heat hardens leather and can distort TPU.
- Store upright in a cool, dry, ventilated place with the buckles loosely fastened so the shell holds its shape.
- Inspect the sole regularly: when the red wear layer shows through in the footpeg area, fit a replacement sole rather than continuing to ride on it.
- Check buckles, straps, receivers and the footpeg insert for damage or wear and replace individual parts as needed — the sole, footpeg insert and buckles are all serviceable items.
- Retire the boots after a heavy crash or significant impact, as protective performance and CE certification cannot be assured once the structure is compromised.
