The TCX Blend 2 WP is a waterproof leather riding boot built for short-range touring and everyday commuting. Cut in full grain leather with a pull-up finish, it keeps a casual, worn-in look that pairs easily with riding jeans, while a T-Dry membrane handles wet weather on the way to work.

Underneath the relaxed styling sit reinforcements at the toe, heel and ankle, so you get more protection than an ordinary lace-up boot without the bulk of a sports boot. An OrthoLite footbed and the Groundtrax rubber outsole make it comfortable to walk in once you're off the bike, which is where this boot earns its keep for riders who wear the same footwear all day.

Brush off dust, grit and road salt after riding, then wipe the leather with a soft damp cloth — grit left in the seams and around the eyelets wears the leather and the stitching.
Use a leather cleaner and conditioner suited to full grain leather to keep the pull-up finish supple; avoid petrol, brake cleaner, solvents and harsh detergents, which strip the finish and can damage the waterproof membrane.
Never put the boots in a washing machine or dryer.
If the boots get soaked, loosen the laces, remove the footbed and let them dry slowly at room temperature away from heaters, campfires and direct sunlight; stuffing them loosely with paper helps them hold their shape.
Allow a short break-in period — wear the boots on a few shorter rides before a long day so the leather moulds to your foot.
Lace them snugly through all eyelets and tuck the lace ends away so they can't catch on the gearshift, footpeg or chain.
Check the laces, eyelets, stitching and sole bond periodically, and replace worn laces before they fail on the road.
Keep the reflective inserts clean, as dirt and dulled leather dressing reduce how well they show up to other traffic.
Watch the outsole tread depth and have the boots re-soled or replaced once the grip pattern is worn smooth.
Store in a cool, dry, ventilated place out of direct sunlight; long periods of damp storage can lead to mould and can shorten membrane life.
