The Alpinestars Supertech R V2 Vented is the brand's definitive racing boot, worn by a long roster of championship-winning riders and rebuilt almost component by component for this second-generation version. Extensive perforation through the microfibre upper, the front flex area and the surrounding panels keeps air moving over the foot and shin, which makes it a strong choice for hot-weather track days and race meetings.
Development feedback from top-flight racing drove the changes: a redesigned front flex area and rear bellow for more natural fore-and-aft movement, a new top gaiter, a new shifter pad and shin plate, a new shin slider, and an updated bio-mechanical inner bootie. Together they lift comfort, feel on the bike and protection without adding bulk.
Built for racers and committed track riders who want maximum ventilation alongside full race-level protection, with replaceable sliders so the boot can be refreshed rather than retired after contact with the tarmac.

- Fit the boot by opening the front zip and TPU stretch panel first, then secure the hook-and-loop flap over the zip puller so it cannot work loose while riding.
- Set the micro-adjustable ratchet at the top of the boot for a snug fit over your leathers, and re-check it before each session.
- Inspect the toe, shin and heel sliders regularly and replace them once they are worn through — the toe slider unscrews for straightforward replacement.
- After contact with the road, check the shin plate, shifter pad, sole and stitching for damage before riding again; a boot that has taken a heavy impact may no longer offer full protection.
- Remove the inner bootie after wet or hot rides and allow both the bootie and the outer boot to dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct heat sources such as heaters, hair dryers and direct sun.
- Clean the microfibre upper with a soft damp cloth and mild soapy water, working gently around the laser-perforated panels; avoid solvents, petrol, bleach and harsh degreasers, and do not machine wash.
- Brush dirt out of the perforations and vents so airflow is not blocked, and clear grit from the sole tread to maintain grip on the pegs.
- Store the boots upright in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight, ideally loosely fastened so the ankle and flex areas hold their shape.
- Allow a short break-in period of gentle riding for the flex area and inner bootie to settle before a full race distance.
- These are vented boots with extensive perforation, so they are not waterproof — expect water ingress in the wet and plan accordingly.
