Clean the outer shell with a soft damp cloth and mild soap; never use petroleum-based solvents, thinners, or abrasive cleaners, as these degrade the composite shell and graphic lacquer.
Clean the CWR-F2 visor with warm water and a clean microfibre cloth — never wipe a dry visor, as dust particles will permanently scratch the optical surface.
To install the Pinlock EVO lens, align the two pins on the visor's inner frame and press the lens firmly until it clicks into position on both sides; check the seal is even around the perimeter.
Remove the 3D Max-Dry II interior lining and cheek pads before washing; hand wash in lukewarm water with mild detergent, rinse thoroughly, and allow to air dry completely before refitting — do not machine wash or tumble dry.
Inspect the EQR cheek pad pull tabs regularly to confirm they are correctly seated; these tabs are critical for emergency helmet removal by first responders.
Replace the helmet after any significant impact, even if there is no visible damage to the shell — the energy-absorbing liner is a single-use structure.
Replace the visor if it develops deep scratches or crazing, as optical distortion increases rider fatigue and reduces hazard detection.
Store the helmet in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours, and chemical fumes; these accelerate degradation of the shell resin and foam liner.
Do not apply adhesive stickers, aftermarket paint, or chemical products directly to the shell surface without confirming compatibility with Shoei.
