- Clean the outer shell with a soft cloth dampened with mild soap and water; rinse thoroughly and allow to dry naturally.
- Clean the face shield with lukewarm water and a soft microfibre cloth; never dry-wipe, as this can scratch the anti-scratch coating.
- Remove the cheek pads and crown liner for hand or gentle machine washing using mild detergent; rinse well.
- Allow all interior components to air dry completely before refitting; do not apply direct heat such as a hair dryer or place near a heater.
- Avoid petrol, petroleum-based solvents, thinners and abrasive cleaners on any part of the helmet or face shield.
- Periodically test the EQR cheek pad release tabs to confirm they operate freely and correctly — this is critical for emergency access.
- Replace the helmet after any significant impact, even when external damage is not visible; the shell and EPS liner may be compromised without showing it.
- Store the helmet in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, UV exposure, extreme heat and chemical fumes such as fuel vapour.
- Replace the face shield when it becomes heavily scratched or crazed; impaired optical clarity is a riding hazard.
