  • Clean the outer shell with mild soap and warm water on a soft cloth; avoid petroleum-based solvents, petrol or abrasive cleaners as these degrade the shell finish and composite structure.
  • Remove cheek pads and the interior liner before washing; hand wash with mild detergent and allow to air dry completely before reinserting — do not tumble dry or use direct heat.
  • Wipe the visor with a damp microfibre cloth only; never wipe a dry visor as trapped dust particles will scratch the optical surface.
  • To fit or reseat the Pinlock EVO insert, align the pins on both sides of the visor and press until the insert sits flat; ensure the silicone bead forms a continuous seal around the perimeter to prevent fogging.
  • Periodically operate the E.Q.R.S. (Emergency Quick Release System) tab on the chin strap to confirm it moves freely; brief any riding partners on its location and use in an emergency.
  • Inspect the shell for cracks, fractures or delamination after any impact — including a low-speed drop to a hard floor; if structural damage is suspected, retire the helmet immediately regardless of its outward appearance.
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours and chemical fumes; prolonged UV exposure and hydrocarbon vapours degrade both the EPS liner and outer shell over time.
  • Shoei recommends retiring and replacing the helmet after approximately five years of regular use from the date of first use, or immediately following any significant impact.
