Clean the outer shell with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap only; solvents, petrol, abrasive cleaners and alcohol-based products will damage the shell finish and may degrade structural integrity.
Clean the CNS-1 visor with a clean, damp cloth or dedicated visor cleaner; never wipe the visor while dry as this causes fine scratches.
To clean the Pinlock 120 EVO insert, remove it carefully from the visor pins and wipe gently with a slightly damp, lint-free cloth; avoid all solvents.
Remove the interior liner and cheek pads and hand-wash in cold water with a mild detergent; rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry completely before reinserting — do not machine wash or tumble dry.
Store the helmet in its protective bag in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, extreme heat, and fuel vapour, all of which accelerate degradation of the EPS liner and shell.
Inspect the visor pivot mechanism and sun-visor slider periodically; if movement becomes stiff, apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant only — avoid petroleum-based lubricants.
Familiarise yourself with the EQRS (Emergency Quick Release System) so that cheek pads can be removed quickly by first responders if required after a crash.
Replace the helmet immediately after any impact, even where no external damage is visible — internal EPS structures may be compromised in ways that are not apparent on inspection.
Shoei advises a service life of approximately five years from the date of first use under normal riding conditions, after which the helmet should be retired regardless of apparent condition.
