Clean the outer shell with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap; never use petroleum-based solvents, petrol, paint thinners, or abrasive cleaners, as these degrade the shell laminate and graphic finish.
Clean the visor by first soaking any debris with a wet cloth before wiping — never rub a dry visor, as dust particles will scratch the lens surface.
Fit the Pinlock EVO insert by ensuring both the visor and insert are clean and that the insert pins seat securely at both ends to maintain an airtight anti-fog seal.
Remove the 3D Max-Dry interior liner and cheek pads according to the instruction manual and hand-wash in lukewarm water with mild detergent; allow all interior components to air-dry completely before reinstalling.
Operate the QSV-1 internal sun visor slide with clean, dry hands; keep the slider channel clear of grit and road contamination to prevent the mechanism binding.
Inspect the chin strap, buckle, and retention system regularly for fraying, wear, or deformation; do not use a helmet with a damaged retention system.
Replace the helmet immediately after any significant impact, even when no visible damage is present — the EPS energy-absorption liner may be internally compromised.
Store the helmet in its provided bag in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuel vapour, oil, and chemical fumes, all of which degrade the EPS liner and shell resin over time.
Shoei recommends retiring the helmet from use five years after the date of first use, or seven years from the date of manufacture, whichever comes first.
