Clean the outer shell with mild soap and warm water on a soft cloth; avoid petroleum-based solvents, petrol, or abrasive cleaners that can degrade the shell finish or lacquer.
Clean the visor with a dedicated visor cleaner or mild soapy water and a microfibre cloth; never wipe a dry visor as this causes micro-scratches that impair vision.
Remove the interior liner and cheek pads for washing; follow the care label on the liner — most Shoei interiors are machine-washable on a gentle cycle in a laundry bag.
Ensure the Pinlock EVO lens is correctly seated and the perimeter seal is airtight before riding in cold or wet conditions; a poor seal allows fogging.
Operate the QSV-1 sun visor before every ride to confirm it deploys and retracts cleanly and seats firmly without vibrating at speed.
Store the helmet in its bag away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours, and sources of heat; prolonged UV and chemical exposure degrades both the shell and EPS liner.
Inspect the shell, EPS liner, visor mechanism, and chin-strap retention system at least annually.
Replace the helmet after any significant impact — even if no visible damage is present, the EPS liner may be compromised and will not protect as designed in a subsequent crash.
Do not apply adhesive stickers, aftermarket paint, or solvent-based decal removers to the shell; these can weaken the composite structure.
Replace the visor if deep scratches develop that reduce clarity or cause glare.
