Clean the outer shell with mild soap and warm water on a soft cloth; never use solvents, petrol, insect repellent, or abrasive cleaners as these degrade the shell material and visor coatings.
Clean the outer visor with warm water and a soft lint-free cloth — avoid paper towels or dry wiping, which causes fine surface scratches.
Clean the Pinlock EVO insert with a lightly dampened soft cloth only; do not press firmly on the insert surface or use glass cleaners.
Remove the interior lining and hand-wash in lukewarm water with a mild detergent; do not machine wash or tumble dry — air dry fully before reinstalling.
Deploy and retract the inner sun shield regularly to keep the slider mechanism free of grit; if resistance is felt, wipe the slider channel with a barely damp cloth.
Replace the helmet after any significant impact, even where no external damage is visible; the EPS liner absorbs energy through deformation that is not detectable from outside.
Replace the outer visor if it becomes scratched, yellowed or cracked, as optical distortion impairs forward visibility and riding safety.
Store the helmet in its supplied bag in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours, and heat sources such as exhausts or dashboards.
Shoei advises retiring a helmet five years from its manufacture date as a precautionary standard, regardless of outward condition; the manufacture date is printed on the interior label.
