Clean the outer shell with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap; avoid petroleum-based solvents, abrasive cleaners, or spray polishes, which can degrade the shell finish and visor coatings.
Clean the visor with lukewarm water or a dedicated visor cleaner applied to a microfibre cloth; never wipe a dry visor as this causes fine scratches that impair vision.
Install the PINLOCK 120 EVO lens by aligning its pins with the slots on the inner edge of the visor; ensure the seal makes even contact around the full perimeter to maintain anti-fog effectiveness.
Remove the interior liner and cheek pads for washing; follow the care labels sewn into each piece and allow them to air dry completely before reinstalling — never use a tumble dryer.
To deploy the inner sun visor, slide the lever on the left-hand side of the helmet shell downward; retract it fully before removing the helmet or storing it to avoid deforming the mechanism.
Store the helmet in its protective bag in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuel, oil, and solvent vapours, all of which degrade the EPS liner and outer shell over time.
Replace the helmet after any significant impact, even when no visible damage is present; the EPS liner is a single-use energy-absorption system.
Shoei advises retiring any helmet after five to seven years of use regardless of apparent condition, as shell resins, EPS, and retention system materials degrade with age and UV exposure.
