Remove cheek pads and crown liner before washing; hand wash in lukewarm water with a mild detergent, then air dry completely before refitting — never machine wash or tumble dry interior components.
Clean the outer shell with mild soap and water using a soft cloth; avoid petroleum-based products, solvents, and abrasive cleaners that can degrade the AIM composite material.
Clean the visor with mild soap and lukewarm water using a microfibre cloth; do not use dry or paper cloths on a soiled visor surface as this will cause scratching.
Store the helmet in a carry bag or its original packaging in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuel vapour, and paint fumes, all of which can degrade shell materials and liners over time.
Do not apply stickers, adhesives, or aftermarket paint to the shell unless confirmed compatible by Shoei, as these may chemically compromise the composite structure.
Replace the helmet after any significant impact, even when no external damage is visible; the EPS liner is engineered for single-impact absorption and cannot be visually inspected for internal deformation.
Inspect the chin-strap buckle and webbing regularly for wear, fraying, or corrosion, and replace the strap if any deterioration is found.
As general helmet industry practice, retire the helmet and consider replacement after five years from the date of manufacture; check the date stamp on the interior label.
