- Clean the outer shell with a mild soap solution and a soft, damp cloth; never use petrol-based solvents, acetone, or abrasive pads, as these will damage the matte finish and may degrade the shell.
- For the matte finish specifically, avoid polish or wax products designed for gloss surfaces — these will leave a sheen and clog the texture.
- Remove the interior comfort lining (if removable) and hand-wash in lukewarm water with a gentle detergent; rinse thoroughly and allow to air-dry completely before reinstalling.
- Do not machine-wash the lining or expose it to tumble dryer heat.
- Store the helmet in a breathable bag or on a flat surface in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours, and temperature extremes — UV and chemical vapours degrade EPS foam and shell materials over time.
- Do not rest the helmet on a mirror stem or handlebar end, as point pressure can cause localised shell stress.
- After any significant impact — even one that appears minor — retire the helmet; the EPS liner may be internally crushed and will not provide the same protection in a subsequent impact.
- As a general guide, consider replacing the helmet every five years from the date of first use, or sooner if the shell, retention system, or padding shows visible wear, discolouration, or deterioration.
- Inspect the chin strap and buckle regularly for fraying, cracking, or loss of function; do not ride with a compromised retention system.
