  • Clean the outer shell with mild soap and warm water using a soft cloth; avoid petroleum-based solvents, acetone or abrasive cleaners, which can degrade the shell finish.
  • Clean the visor with a soft, damp cloth only — never wipe a dry visor, as dust particles will cause fine scratching.
  • To remove stubborn insects from the visor, lay a damp cloth over the area for a few minutes to soften residue before wiping gently.
  • Remove the interior comfort liner before washing; hand wash in cool water with a mild detergent and allow to air dry completely before refitting.
  • Inspect the flip-up chin bar pivot mechanism periodically for smooth, positive action; keep pivot points clear of grit and debris.
  • Check the retention system (chin strap and fastener) regularly for signs of fraying, corrosion or looseness, and replace if compromised.
  • Store the helmet in its bag or box in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours and extreme temperatures, all of which degrade EPS and shell materials over time.
  • Replace the helmet immediately following any significant impact, even if no visible damage is present — internal EPS damage is not apparent to the eye.
  • As a general guideline, retire and replace the helmet after five years from the date of first use, or sooner if padding shows significant compression or the shell shows crazing.
