Clean the outer shell with a damp cloth and mild soap only; petroleum-based solvents, fuel, and abrasive cleaners can degrade the shell material and any printed graphics.
Remove the interior liner and cheek pads and hand-wash with mild detergent in cool water; allow to air-dry fully before reinserting — do not machine-wash or tumble-dry.
Inspect the chin strap webbing and retention buckle before every ride; retire or service the helmet if either shows fraying, cracking, or failure to latch securely.
Check goggle/visor attachment points and any pivot or retention screws periodically; tighten if loose to maintain a secure fit under riding conditions.
Do not apply paint, stickers, or adhesive-backed accessories to the shell unless specifically approved by Alpinestars — adhesives and solvents can compromise structural integrity without visible external damage.
Store the helmet in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, fuel vapour, and extreme heat; a helmet bag helps prevent scratching of the shell and graphics during transport and storage.
Replace the helmet after any significant impact, regardless of whether visible damage is present — EPS foam liner does not return to its original protective state after absorbing a crash.
Conduct a visual inspection of the shell, liner, and retention system at regular intervals and withdraw the helmet from use at the first sign of cracking, delamination, or deteriorated foam.
