The Alpinestars RK-7 Plasma Knee Brace is a slim, ergonomic hinged brace built for motocross, enduro and off-road riding. A free-floating Nucleon Plasma knee protector sits within an asymmetric fibre-reinforced frame, so the brace stays rigid where it needs to be while remaining light, breathable and comfortable through dynamic movement on the bike.
It is aimed at riders who want structured joint support rather than a soft knee guard — the four-point hinge follows the natural articulation of the knee and adjustable extension stops let you set the maximum opening angle to suit your riding and your knee. Wear surfaces, padding and knee cups are replaceable, so the brace can be refreshed rather than retired after a hard season.

- Choose your size using the Alpinestars sizing guidance and fit the brace so the hinge centres on the knee joint; do up the lower straps first, then the upper, and adjust the X-straps so the brace stays put without cutting off circulation.
- Set the extension stops to the maximum opening angle you want before riding — they exchange out in 5-degree steps from 0 to 30 degrees, and can be swapped as spare parts.
- Use the condyle padding thicknesses supplied to fine-tune side-to-side fit; the padding is replaceable if it packs down or wears.
- Check the hinge fasteners, extension stops, buckles and straps before each ride and re-tighten or replace anything that has loosened or worn.
- After riding, remove mud and grit from the hinges and frame; caked dirt in the hinge accelerates wear.
- Hand wash the removable padding and straps in lukewarm water with a mild detergent, rinse well and air dry away from direct heat. Do not tumble dry.
- Wipe the frame and knee cups with a damp cloth and mild soap only — avoid solvents, petrol, brake cleaner and other harsh chemicals, which can damage the polyurethane shell and Nucleon Plasma.
- Dry the brace fully before storing, and keep it in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight rather than sealed in a wet gear bag.
- Replace the knee cups, patella extensions, padding, straps or extension stops with genuine Alpinestars spare parts as they wear.
- Retire or have the brace inspected after a heavy impact or crash, and replace any cracked or deformed components before riding again.
