Clean the outer shell with a mild soap solution and a soft, damp cloth; avoid petrol, solvents or abrasive cleaners, which can damage both the shell finish and the matte surface.
Clean the visor with warm water and a soft microfibre cloth; never wipe a dry visor — loose grit will scratch the lens permanently.
Remove and hand-wash the interior liner and cheek pads with mild detergent as needed; allow all padding to air-dry completely before reinserting.
Before each ride, check that the chin bar locks firmly into both the fully closed and fully open positions; do not ride if the latch feels loose or does not engage positively.
Inspect pivot points and locking mechanisms periodically for wear or debris build-up; consult Rjays or the retailer before applying any lubricant to plastic or painted components.
After any impact — even a drop onto hard ground — retire the helmet, as EPS foam absorbs energy permanently and will not show visible damage but will offer reduced protection in a subsequent crash.
Store the helmet in a breathable helmet bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, fuel, solvents and chemical vapours.
Avoid hanging the helmet on mirrors or handlebars for extended periods, which can deform or stress the retention system.
