  • Clean the outer shell using a mild soap solution and a soft, damp cloth; never use petroleum-based solvents, abrasive cleaners or petrol, as these can degrade the shell and lining materials.
  • If the interior liner and cheekpads are removable, hand-wash them in warm water with mild detergent and allow to air-dry fully before refitting.
  • Clean the visor with a clean, damp cloth; use a dedicated visor cleaner if available, and avoid paper towels or dry cloths that can scratch the surface.
  • Inspect the chin strap and buckle before each ride for fraying, cuts or corrosion, and replace if any wear is found.
  • Store the helmet in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight and fuels; UV exposure and chemical fumes degrade foam liners over time.
  • Do not apply paint, aftermarket stickers or adhesives over vents, as this can impair airflow and compromise shell integrity.
  • Replace the helmet after any significant impact event — even if no visible damage is present, internal EPS foam may be compromised.
  • As a general guide, helmet manufacturers recommend replacing helmets every five years from the date of first use, or sooner if the helmet is damaged.
