- Clean the outer shell with mild soap and warm water applied with a soft cloth; never use petroleum-based solvents, thinners, or abrasive cleaners as these will damage the shell finish and any graphics.
- Clean the visor with a damp microfibre cloth or dedicated visor cleaner; always dampen the visor before wiping — wiping a dry visor causes micro-scratches that reduce optical clarity.
- Remove the interior liner and cheek pads before washing; hand-wash in cool water with a mild detergent, rinse thoroughly, and allow to air-dry completely before refitting — do not tumble-dry.
- Store the helmet in a well-ventilated, cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, UV exposure, and chemical fumes including fuel, oil, and aerosol sprays, all of which can degrade shell integrity and foam liners over time.
- Do not hang the helmet by its chin strap for extended periods, as sustained load on the strap or buckle can cause deformation.
- Inspect the chin strap, retention buckle, and visor pivot mechanism regularly; discontinue use if fraying, cracking, or slippage is detected.
- Replace the helmet immediately following any significant impact, even where no visible external damage is apparent — the EPS liner absorbs energy by compressing and will not provide full protection in a subsequent impact.
- As a general guide, replace the helmet after five years of regular use or as recommended by the manufacturer, as materials degrade with age, sweat, and UV exposure regardless of visible condition.
