- Clean the outer shell with a soft damp cloth and mild soap; never use petroleum-based solvents, harsh detergents, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the shell and degrade graphics.
- Wipe the visor with warm water and a soft microfibre cloth; always wet the surface first — wiping a dry visor can grind dust particles into the lens and cause permanent scratching.
- If the interior liner and cheek pads are removable, hand-wash them with mild soap in lukewarm water and allow to air dry completely before refitting.
- Fasten the chin strap and store the helmet upright or hang it from the chin bar — never store it resting on the visor or stacked under other items.
- Keep the helmet away from fuels, paints, thinners, and aerosol sprays; solvent vapours can penetrate and weaken EPS liner foam without any visible sign of damage.
- Inspect the chin strap, buckle, and retention system before each ride; retire the helmet if the buckle is cracked, the strap is frayed, or the D-ring shows signs of deformation.
- Replace the helmet after any significant impact, even if no external damage is visible — EPS foam compresses to absorb energy and does not return to its original protective state after a crash.
- As a general guideline, replace any motorcycle helmet after five years of use from the manufacture date, or sooner if the shell, liner, or fit deteriorates noticeably.
