- Clean the outer shell with a soft damp cloth and mild soap; avoid petroleum-based solvents or abrasive cleaners that can degrade the shell finish and matte coating.
- Clean the visor with warm water and a microfibre cloth; never wipe a dry visor as debris can scratch the lens.
- Remove the interior liner before washing it; hand-wash in cool water with mild detergent and allow to air-dry fully before reinserting.
- Inspect the chin strap and retention buckle regularly for wear, fraying or deformation.
- Check the visor pivot mechanism and locking tabs for smooth, secure operation before each ride.
- Replace the helmet immediately after any impact, even if no visible damage is apparent — internal EPS foam does not recover.
- Store the helmet in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, fuel, and chemical vapours, which can degrade shell materials and foam liners over time.
- Do not hang the helmet by its chin strap for extended periods, as this can stress the strap anchors.
- As a general rule, replace any motorcycle helmet every five years from the date of manufacture regardless of visible condition, or sooner if the fit or structural integrity has changed.
