- Clean the helmet shell with a soft cloth dampened in warm water and mild soap; avoid petrol, acetone, solvents or abrasive cleaners, which attack the shell and paint.
- Clean the visor with warm soapy water or a dedicated visor cleaner — never wipe a dry visor as dry-wiping causes micro-scratches that reduce optical clarity.
- If the interior liner is removable, hand-wash in lukewarm water with a gentle detergent and allow it to air-dry completely before refitting.
- Store the helmet in its carry bag or box in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, heat sources and fuel vapour, all of which degrade the EPS liner and shell over time.
- Do not rest the helmet on a fuel tank, mirror or any surface where chemical contamination or impact could occur unnoticed.
- Replace the helmet after any impact — even a drop from handlebar height — regardless of visible damage; EPS foam does not recover from a single compression event.
- As a general guideline, retire the helmet no later than five years from first use; UV exposure, perspiration and normal wear gradually degrade materials even without obvious damage.
- Inspect the chin strap, retention buckle, visor hinges and visor seals periodically; replace components if wear or stiffness is apparent.
