- Clean the outer shell with a soft cloth dampened with mild soap and warm water; never use petroleum-based solvents, petrol, or abrasive cleaners as these can degrade the shell and liner materials.
- Remove the visor before washing the helmet exterior; clean the visor separately with a gentle, lens-safe solution to avoid crazing the polycarbonate.
- If the interior liner is removable, wash it according to the care label and allow it to air-dry completely before refitting — do not use a tumble dryer.
- Store the helmet in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, fuel vapours, and high heat, as UV exposure and chemical fumes degrade foam and shell materials over time.
- Never hang the helmet by its chin strap; store it on a flat surface or inside a helmet bag to avoid distorting the retention system.
- After any significant impact — even one with no visible external damage — retire the helmet. EPS foam compresses permanently on impact and will not protect as intended a second time.
- Inspect the chin strap and retaining buckle for fraying, cracking, or looseness before each ride; do not ride with a compromised retention system.
- Replace the visor if it becomes deeply scratched or shows crazing, as reduced optical clarity is a direct safety hazard.
